Dr. Gianira Candelario Acevedo attended Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico and was awarded her bachelor’s degree in natural sciences in 2001. Following graduation, she went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. After finishing her veterinary medical studies and receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, she completed a one-year internship in small-animal medicine and surgery at Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists (ACVS) in 2007.

Immediately following her internship, she joined the staff of ACVS as an emergency/critical care veterinarian. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

During her leisure time, Dr. Acevedo is a fitness instructor. More than anything else, she enjoys passing the time with her dog, Federico, a cocker spaniel.
